Joint Police-Fire Investigation Launched to Determine Exact Cause of Incheon Coupang Fulfillment Center Fire

Incheon police and fire authorities launched a joint investigation starting at 10 AM on the 28th at the site of the Coupang Fulfillment Center fire in Seoknam-dong to determine the exact cause of the blaze. The police investigation team, accompanied by experts from the National Forensic Service and the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, is inspecting the interior of the site.

Additionally, to understand the initial situation, police have questioned the first reporter and Coupang officials as witnesses.

The fire broke out around 7 AM on the 18th on the 6th floor of the Coupang Fulfillment Center in Seoknam-dong, Incheon, resulting in two firefighters receiving hospital treatment for smoke inhalation and exhaustion. Fire authorities succeeded in initial suppression around 8 PM on the 20th, declaring the fire completely extinguished after clearing remaining embers some 109 hours after it began.
