North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un visited the cemetery of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, which fought in the Korean War, ahead of the 73rd anniversary of the Armistice Agreement, emphasizing North Korea-China friendship. The Rodong Sinmun reported on the 27th that Kim visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Hoechang County, South Pyongan Province, the previous day, where he knelt on one knee to offer flowers and pay respects at the grave of Mao Anying, the son of Chinese leader Chairman Mao Zedong. Key party, state, and military officials accompanied Kim, including Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, Minister of National Defense No Kwang Chol, National Defense Commission Advisor Park Jong Chon, and Party Secretaries Kim Song Nam, Ju Chang Il, and Jo Yong Won.

North Korean media reported that a plaque unveiling ceremony was held on the 24th (local time) at the National Cemetery (Federal Military Memorial Cemetery) in Moscow, Russia, to commemorate North Korean war dead. The plaque bears the inscription, 'Russia will not forget the heroic deeds of the fighters of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea who fought in the Kursk region,' and features a relief of North Korean soldiers set against the North Korean flag.
