Even in Private Mode, Internet Activity Data Continues to be Collected

Private browsing is not foolproof. Cybersecurity expert Kurt Knutsson reported on the 28th (local time) that internet service providers, websites, and advertisers can continue to collect information about users' online activities. In today's internet environment, data is structured so that multiple companies can collect it every time you connect, and knowing what information is visible to others is the first step to protection.

Internet service providers act as intermediaries connecting a user's device to the internet, enabling them to monitor visited websites, time spent online, data usage, and approximate locations based on IP addresses.

Websites can determine IP addresses, locations, device and browser information, and viewed pages regardless of account creation. They may also utilize tools such as tracking pixels and ad scripts to analyze visitor interactions.
