40 Nations Issue Statement on China's SLBM Launch
Forty nations, led by the United States and including South Korea and Japan, have issued a joint statement criticizing China's recent test launch of a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).
The joint statement addresses criticism of an SLBM launched on August 6th by a Chinese naval strategic submarine, which carried a training dummy warhead in international waters of the Pacific Ocean.
While the statement does not explicitly name China, it indirectly refers to Beijing's launch activities through the phrase 'recent SLBM test launches by nuclear-armed states in the Pacific region.'
