Rep. Lee Hae-min Appointed Presidential AI Chief; Proportional Seat to Pass to Kim Hyeong-yeon

As Rep. Lee Hae-min of the Rebuilding Korea Party was appointed as the Senior Secretary for AI Future Planning at the Presidential Office on the 30th, his proportional representation seat is expected to be succeeded by Supreme Council member Kim Hyeong-yeon.

Rep. Lee is an IT expert who majored in computer science at Sogang University and worked at Google’s headquarters for 15 years. He entered politics in 2024 as the Rebuilding Korea Party's second high-profile recruit, becoming a first-term proportional representative lawmaker.

Should Rep. Lee resign from his post, the proportional representation seat will automatically pass to the next candidate on the list, Supreme Council member Kim Hyeong-yeon, in accordance with political party law.
