Anthropic, Valued at $2 Trillion, Pushes Ahead With Nasdaq Listing
AI firm Anthropic has begun the process of listing on the Nasdaq, the leading US tech stock market. Anthropic, the company behind the AI model 'Claude,' has filed its listing application with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under the ticker symbol 'ANT.' The company is aiming to debut on the Nasdaq next month.
The company is expected to be valued at up to $2 trillion (roughly 2,700 trillion won) in the listing, with proceeds from the offering projected to reach $100 billion. The IPO proceeds from newly issued shares could top $100 billion — a scale that would likely shatter the record set by SpaceX's public offering.
Notably, Anthropic laid out the risks of AI in detail in its filing. According to the Associated Press, the filing even touched on runaway scenarios in which AI spirals out of control. Out of a 400-page document, nearly 100 pages were devoted to risk factors alone, covering issues such as technology misuse and weaponization.
Meanwhile, Anthropic's revenue for the first half of this year surged more than fourteenfold from a year earlier to top $16.2 billion.
