Rep. Joo Jin-woo claims vote count results were falsely entered at 57 polling stations
On Monday, Rep. Joo Jin-woo of the People Power Party held a press conference at the National Assembly's communication hall, claiming that the vote count results for 57 polling districts (counting units divided within a single polling station) were falsely entered in the 22nd general election. He said that after expanding his investigation from the metropolitan area nationwide, he identified 85 cases of false entries at 57 polling stations. At 42 polling stations, the discrepancy in the number of voters totaled about 19,400.
In polling district 4 of Songdo-dong 4, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, the counting status sheet listed 5,871 voters, but the count results recorded 3,790 — about 2,000 fewer. In contrast, polling district 1 of Jeonha-dong 1, Dong-gu, Ulsan, reflected 3,717 voters, about 2,000 more than the 1,701 listed on the counting status sheet (according to materials released by Rep. Joo).
Rep. Joo plans to visit the office of the special prosecutor team led by Lee Tae-han in Seocho-gu on Tuesday afternoon to deliver the relevant materials. These claims come from Rep. Joo's side, and the facts must be verified through the special prosecutor's investigation.
