The People Power Party (PPP) went on the offensive on Tuesday, calling "tiresome word games" President Lee Jae-myung's rebuttal of reports on his remarks about real estate.

At the Cabinet meeting at the presidential office on Monday, President Lee said, "Actual transaction prices in major areas are falling at an alarming rate." On Tuesday, he pushed back against media reports of "plummeting home prices," saying, "'Plummeting' is not the same thing," and adding, "I clearly only mentioned Gangnam, Seocho, and Songpa."

PPP spokesperson Ham In-kyung countered in a statement, "Do we really have to dissect every single phrase and word to understand what the President truly means?" She asked, "How long will we keep blaming interpretations and faulting every expression while repeating these squabbles?" and added, "This kind of word play is tiresome."
