Busan Education Office Runs Training Program Where 40 Teachers Build Their Own AI Apps
Starting on the 6th, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will run the nation's first '2026 School AI Living Lab Bootcamp' for a team of 40 leading teachers. A bootcamp is a short, intensive training course; this program will be conducted online as well as at Pukyong National University and Busan National University of Education.
Existing training programs had teachers using ready-made edtech applications. This new training, by contrast, has teachers identifying problems they encounter in class and school life, designing AI-based solutions, and applying them in the field. Its distinguishing feature is that frontline needs are directly reflected in technology development.
The training begins with a preparatory session on the 6th, followed by problem-solving mentoring and living lab implementation methods on the 7th. On the 14th, participants will cover AI agent design and educational web app development, and on the 21st, hands-on practice in developing teaching tools using micro:bit and ESP32 boards.
Earlier, on the 4th, the office held a '2026 Second-Half AI and Data Academy' for its staff in the international conference room of its annex. At the session, Officer Son Young-hwa shared 'vibe coding' techniques—building programs with AI without specialized coding knowledge—and ways to automate repetitive administrative tasks.
