Reform Is Not a Weapon of Attack... President Lee Jae-myung Declares 'Practical Reform'
President Lee Jae-myung said on X on the 4th that "reform must never become a means of attacking someone," adding that he will steadfastly pursue 'practical reform' that genuinely improves people's lives. In a post on X that day, the president wrote, "Reform is carried out for the people and the nation, not for someone's political achievements and applause."
He continued, "Reform must lead to tangible results that contribute to improving livelihoods and advancing the nation; it must not become a noisy spectacle aimed merely at drawing attention while hindering the achievement of results."
Meanwhile, dissent over Kim Ji-yong's nomination as head of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials has also emerged among some Democratic Party lawmakers. Lawmakers Park Ju-min, Yoon Kun-young, and Kim Yong-min have voiced opposition to the nominee or called for careful review. Kim's confirmation hearing motion has already been submitted to the National Assembly.
