Israel's Iran Conflict Costs Reach 17 Trillion Won
The Israeli Ministry of Finance announced on the 12th (local time) an estimate that Israel has incurred financial costs amounting to approximately 17 trillion won due to the war with Iran.
Military and security sector spending accounted for the largest portion of the total war expenses, with approximately 22 billion shekels, equivalent to 10.75 trillion won, recorded as defense and military budget. These costs were allocated to the Israel Defense Forces, the Ministry of Defense, the National Security Council, and other security agencies, and were found to have been additionally reflected in the national budget for fiscal year 2026.
Approximately 12 billion shekels, equivalent to 5.8 trillion won, were allocated to the cleanup of civilian sector damage and compensation for economic losses. This amount includes compensation for missile attack damages, loss compensation due to decreased corporate productivity, and support for workers on unpaid leave.
Purely civilian relief costs amounted to approximately 1 billion shekels, equivalent to 490 billion won. This cost category includes hospital operations, emergency response, and expenditures by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
