President Lee Jae-myung Orders Shift to Negative Regulation Approach
President Lee Jae-myung stressed on the 15th the need to transition to a 'negative' regulatory approach for future sectors like advanced industries, which involves regulating only what is 'prohibited' rather than requiring explicit permission.
Presiding over the first meeting of the Regulatory Rationalization Committee, which was comprehensively reorganized after the new government's launch, President Lee stated at the Blue House that "in addition to clearing away unnecessary and inefficient regulations, we must align the regulatory system with global standards."
Emphasizing the importance of competitiveness within the major trend of a "trading nation," President Lee pointed out that the current regulatory system is often driven by the needs of regulatory authorities rather than the practical demands of the field.
