Pohang City to Invest 619.8 Billion Won to Create 34,500 Jobs

Pohang City is establishing detailed plans for its 2026 regional job creation disclosure system and moving forward with full-scale implementation. The city has set a target to create 34,500 jobs by investing a total of 619.8 billion won in 2026, aiming to increase jobs that citizens can tangibly feel in line with industrial structural changes and strengthen customized employment support for each demographic.

Pohang City will pursue policies centered on four key tasks: innovative jobs leading industrial transition, residence-based jobs utilizing local specialized resources, region-tailored jobs for everyone to enjoy, and lifestyle-integrated jobs that enhance quality of life.

Kwon Oh-seong, head of Pohang City's Jobs and Youth Division, stated that the city will foster an employment environment that citizens can feel through job creation responding to industrial transitions and customized support for each demographic.

Pohang City will also work to resolve the mismatch between job seekers and employers by utilizing employment support infrastructure such as the Job Comprehensive Center, Employment Support Center, Spare Time Exchange, and Job Fairs.
