DiGenova has repeatedly raised allegations of misconduct against former Director Brennan concerning the origins of the Russia investigation. In a 2018 broadcast, he claimed that Brennan conspired with the FBI and the Justice Department to falsely target former President Donald Trump.

Figures within the Trump administration have pursued investigations into the origins of the Russia probe, arguing that intelligence and law enforcement agencies initiated the investigation improperly. The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
