Mapo-gu Rises as a Global Industrial Hub Integrating Culture, Economy, and Carbon Neutrality

Mapo-gu in Seoul is evolving into a world-class industrial hub where culture, economy, and environmental protection activities harmonize, built upon its youthfulness, art scene, advanced industries, convenient transportation, and abundant green spaces. By combining the cultural energy of Hongdae, Hapjeong, and Yeonnam-dong with the broadcasting and media industries of Sangam-dong's Digital Media City (DMC), it has grown into a city where culture and economy coexist. The 'Red Road' has established itself as a representative cultural street attracting domestic and international tourists, and residents' life satisfaction is also reported to be high.

Mapo-gu ranked first in happiness among the 25 autonomous districts in the '2025 Seoul Survey' and has recorded three consecutive years of first-place rankings in life satisfaction and yesterday's happiness in the '2025 Community Survey'.

Recognizing the climate crisis as a 'life crisis,' Mapo-gu has established its '1st Mapo-gu Carbon Neutral Green Growth Master Plan' (2025-2034) and is pursuing its '3rd Climate Crisis Adaptation Measures' (2026-2030) to strengthen resilience in areas closely related to residents' lives. Through these initiatives, the district plans to systematically promote its transition to a carbon-neutral city.
