Ansan Mayoral Candidate Lee Min-geun Formalizes Re-election Bid

Ansan Mayoral Candidate Lee Min-geun has launched his bid for a second term, having registered as a preliminary candidate on the 23rd of last month. He is expected to be the first to seek consecutive terms as Ansan Mayor. Candidate Lee will face off against Cheon Young-mi, the Democratic Party's Ansan mayoral primary winner, in the general election scheduled for the 27th.

Lee highlighted his achievements over the past four years, including pushing for the designation of the Ansan Economic Free Zone, securing the Subway Line 4 underground project, and establishing the Banwol National Industrial Complex as an AI transition demonstration complex. The Line 4 underground project, costing 1.1 trillion won, aims to secure 710,000 square meters of new space for mixed-use development. Lee stated his commitment to reshaping Ansan's urban landscape through the successful execution of these projects.

Expansion of transportation infrastructure is a key pledge, with plans including the early completion of the Sinansan Line, the establishment of a new station at Jayeok, additional exits at Hanyang University Station, and advocating for an extension to Daebudo.
