Senator Van Hollen: Netanyahu Enticed Former President Trump Into Iran War

Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen has claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu drew then-U.S. President Donald Trump into a war with Iran. Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," Van Hollen criticized Netanyahu, arguing that the Prime Minister had been waiting 40 years for a confrontation with Iran and that former President Trump was 'stupid enough' to carry it out.

Van Hollen pointed out that former President Trump ran his campaign promising to avoid new wars and cut costs, but these pledges were undermined by intervention in the conflict with Iran.

Senator Van Hollen emphasized that former President Trump does not need China's support to end the war with Iran, and that the fastest solution is to stop worsening the situation.
