People Power Party Standing Election Committee Chairman Jang Dong-hyuk called for voters to hold the opposition party accountable, citing the 'Druking comment manipulation incident' with just two weeks remaining until the June 1 local elections.

Jang attended an election committee and victory pledge rally held in Changwon City, Gyeongnam, on the 19th, emphasizing, "Gyeongnam is the last line of defense for the Republic of Korea and liberal democracy." He continued, "We urge you to judge the arrogance of the Democratic Party, which has nominated a gubernatorial candidate with four prior convictions, in these local elections." Jang criticized, stating that people would know well how much comment manipulation crimes destroy democracy, adding, "An individual who committed such a crime, served as governor, and was released from prison after serving a jail sentence is now running for office seeking the people's choice again."

His remarks are interpreted as a strategic message aimed at attempting to shift the election narrative by launching a full-scale attack on the opposition candidate with just two weeks left until the June 3 local elections, and to rally conservative voters. These statements are analyzed as part of a strategy to appeal to voters for judgment by highlighting past allegations of corruption.
