People Power Party Criticizes DP's Administrative Integration Pledge as 'Scam'

The People Power Party's South Chungcheong Province chapter has criticized the administrative integration pledge for the Daejeon-Chungnam region, put forth by the Democratic Party and Governor-elect Park Soo-hyun, as a "nationwide scam." The pledge proposed merging the administrative districts of the two regions for integrated operation, but the People Power Party argued that the will to fulfill the promise disappeared after the election.

The People Power Party specifically criticized Governor-elect Park's attitude of deferring discussions to the transition committee, referring to the integration as his "personal roadmap," as an evasion of his promise.

President Lee Jae-myung has also previously stated that administrative integration would realistically be difficult before future local elections.
