Presidential Office: 'Consistently Pursuing Peaceful Coexistence' Amid North Korea's Criticism of EU Statement
The Presidential Office stated on the 14th that it will consistently pursue its 'peaceful coexistence' policy in response to North Korea's criticism of the joint statement issued after the South Korea-European Union (EU) summit.
North Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the South Korean Presidential Office's stance, saying, "The South Korean ruling power has thrown off its 'mask of peace' which it had awkwardly worn." It further asserted, "Whatever words and actions the Seoul authorities take, they are a challenge to us, and our principle of countering our foe, which is to treat South Korea as a thorough enemy country, is immutable."
This is understood to be aimed at the results of the South Korea-EU summit held during President Lee Jae-myung's European tour.
