Jinju City Council Democrats Nominate Own Leadership Candidates Amid Power Struggle

Members of the Jinju City Council from the Democratic Party officially nominated their own candidates on the 3rd, countering the People Power Party's attempt to unilaterally secure all leadership positions.

The Democratic Party council members held a press conference, stating that their proposals for cooperation with the People Power Party were rejected and that they decided to nominate candidates because they could not abandon the responsibilities entrusted to them by the citizens, despite their efforts for cooperation being ignored.

The Jinju City Council is composed of members from the Democratic Party, the People Power Party, and independents. Elections for the Speaker and Vice-Speaker are scheduled for July 6th.
