Goyang City Council Member Under Prosecution Investigation for Distributing Ex-Partner's Photos

A council member from the Goyang City Council is facing prosecution investigation on charges of distributing private photos of an ex-partner and making threats. The Ilsandongbu Police Station announced on the 5th that they have transferred Council Member A to the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office Goyang Branch on these charges.

Member A is accused of taking photos of a woman's exposed body from the mobile phone of their former partner during their past relationship, then spreading these photos to acquaintances or using them to threaten the individual.

The victim filed a complaint with the police in April against Member A, citing four charges including threats, defamation, violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, and violation of the Stalking Punishment Act. The police have transferred the case to the prosecution for further investigation regarding the charges of threats and violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes. Member A denies the charges, and further investigation will be conducted by the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office Goyang Branch.
