North Korea May Deploy Additional Missile Units to Russia

Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate has revealed that North Korean missile units have begun deploying to the Voronezh region in western Russia, raising questions about the extent of their involvement in actual combat and direct missile operations on the battlefield. The North Korean missile unit, reportedly around 90 personnel, is expected to be assigned to Russia's 112th Missile Brigade.

Through this deployment, Russia anticipates securing up to 120 North Korean-made ballistic missiles and six launchers. North Korea is understood to have already sent 40 KN-23 and KN-24 missiles along with operational personnel to the unit, with the full scale of the deployment expected to be finalized at an upcoming high-level North Korea-Russia summit next month.

Hong Min, a senior researcher at the Korea Institute for National Unification, analyzed that unlike the initial demonstration deployment, there is a high probability that additional troops will be organized alongside Russian forces and participate in actual combat. Yang Uk, a research fellow at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, also assessed this as a phase of full-scale deployment.
