The EU has fully implemented transparency obligations under the AI Act starting August 2.

According to the European Commission, users must be clearly informed that they are interacting with AI. Additionally, images, videos, and audio generated by AI must bear both machine-readable markings and disclosures discernible to humans.

Hiding information in the fine print or burying it deep within menus is considered insufficient. Violations of transparency obligations can result in fines of up to €15 million (approximately 240 billion won) or 3% of global annual revenue.
