A first-instance court has sentenced a teenage boy to an indeterminate prison term for a brutal crime committed in February, in which he attacked a mother at the entrance of an apartment complex before entering the home and stabbing her elementary and middle school-aged daughters. It was revealed that the perpetrator, a classmate of the victim's daughter, had meticulously planned the murder, citing the reason that he felt disregarded by the victim. He reportedly surveilled the victim's access routes and timing and lay in ambush for 30 minutes prior to the attack.

During the prosecution's investigation, the student was reported to have stated, "I thought it was the same whether I killed one person or three, and as long as I killed them quickly and wasn't discovered, it would be fine." It was also revealed that prior to the attempted murder, he had created sexual exploitation materials targeting the victim, who was his classmate.

While the prosecution sought the statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for a juvenile offender, the first-instance court sentenced him to an indeterminate prison term with a maximum of 10 years and a minimum of 7 years. The court cited the defendant's status as a 15-year-old minor with room for rehabilitation and his borderline intelligence assessment as reasons for the sentencing.

Following the incident, a national petition urging strict punishment for violent crimes committed by minors garnered over 50,000 signatures and has been referred to the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee.
