US Military Blocks Strait of Hormuz for 24 Hours; Zero Iranian Vessels Pass
The US military began a maritime blockade targeting Iran, centered on the Strait of Hormuz, from 11 PM KST on the 13th and continues the operation as of the 14th.
In the 24 hours since the US military began its operation to block passage through the Strait of Hormuz, not a single Iranian vessel has passed. US Central Command stated via X (formerly Twitter) yesterday (the 14th) that no vessels broke through the US blockade in the first 24 hours, and six merchant ships re-entered Iranian ports in the Gulf of Oman following US military instructions.
This maritime blockade mission involves over 10,000 US Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force personnel, along with more than 12 warships and dozens of aircraft, which have been monitoring and controlling vessels entering and exiting all Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. US Central Command explained that the blockade is being implemented impartially for all nationalities of vessels entering and departing Iranian ports and coastal areas. Freedom of navigation for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz that are entering or departing ports outside of Iran has been supported.
