Four Men in Their 20s Indicted for Raping 15-Year-Old Student

Four men in their 20s will face trial on charges of sexually assaulting and filming a 15-year-old female student who was unconscious due to intoxication. Judicial proceedings are now fully underway following the prosecution's additional investigation into the case. The Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office's Women and Children Crimes Division announced on the 15th that it arrested and indicted men A (20) and B (21) on charges of rape and illegal filming.

Two accomplices, both aged 21, were indicted without detention. According to the prosecution, they are accused of raping and illegally filming the 15-year-old student while she was unconscious from drinking.

Previously, the police, who initially investigated the case, decided not to send the suspects to prosecution, accepting their claims of consent. However, after the victim's family filed an objection and the case was transferred to the prosecution, the prosecutors analyzed video evidence and re-investigated the suspects. They concluded that the victim was in a state of severe mental impairment, rendering her unable to give valid consent. The prosecution subsequently requested and obtained arrest warrants for the two main suspects.
