Firefighter Indicted on Murder and Arson Charges in Cheerleading Coach's Death
A firefighter in Ohio has been indicted on charges of murdering a cheerleading coach and setting her body ablaze, with the court setting his bail at $5 million. Authorities allege that firefighter Peyton Beam shot the woman four times, killing her, before setting her body on fire. According to prosecutors, Beam, a member of the Ansonia Volunteer Fire Department, responded to the fire scene, and he faces charges of aggravated murder and aggravated arson.
The body of 50-year-old Ericka Kramer was discovered on April 10 at a house fire in Ansonia, Ohio. Kramer was a cheerleading coach at a local Ansonia school and a mother of one.
Meanwhile, Beam's attorney, John Lyon, stated that his client had worked on the farm with Kramer and considered her a "second mother.".
