Jeon Jae-soo Criticizes Oh Se-hoon's 'Checking the Government' Remarks as 'Political Maneuvering'
Jeon Jae-soo, a candidate for Busan mayor from the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon's remarks about 'checking the current government,' calling them a 'political approach aimed at misleading voters.' This implies that it is inappropriate for a mayor, who lacks legislative or budget-forming powers, to comment on checking the government.
In the past, during his tenure as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, when asked about 'running for Busan mayor,' Jeon stated, 'There are mountains of tasks that need to be done,' indicating his focus on fulfilling his duties as minister. However, five months later, he appeared in a different capacity as the Democratic Party's candidate for Busan mayor (on JTBC's 'Lee Ga-hyeok Live').
At that time, he appeared committed to completing his mission as minister.
