US Senator Steve Daines to Visit China Next Month
US Republican Senator Steve Daines will visit China on the 1st of next month, leading a US delegation.
This is seen as a move to explore negotiation leverage ahead of a potential visit to China by former US President Donald Trump. A US delegation composed of five bipartisan lawmakers, including Senator Daines, plans to visit Shanghai and Beijing on May 1st, and it is known that this will be the first visit to China for some members.
During his visit to China in March last year, Senator Daines met with Premier Li Qiang and Vice Premier He Lifeng.
