Yoo Yeon-sik, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Candidate, Pledges to Spearhead Second Sejong Center Construction

Yoo Yeon-sik, a preliminary candidate for Yeongdeungpo District Mayor representing the Democratic Party, revealed that he confirmed the construction of the Second Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Mullae-dong during his tenure as the head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Culture Headquarters, and that he led efforts from securing the budget to its promotion.

Candidate Yoo is recognized as an 'action-oriented policy expert' with extensive experience in policy planning and execution, having served in various roles at the Seoul Metropolitan Government for 30 years, including head of the Culture Headquarters, Climate and Environment Headquarters, and Waterworks Headquarters.

He emphasized the necessity of constructing the Second Sejong Center to resolve the imbalance in performing arts infrastructure in Seoul's southwestern region, expressing his ambition to establish a representative cultural landmark for South Korea.

Candidate Yoo presented six core pledges, including the creation of a global luxury city, the establishment of a transportation hub, and a leap forward as a cultural city. He added that he would pour all his administrative capabilities into these initiatives, drawing upon his childhood spent in Yeongdeungpo and his deep connections with local residents.
