Kim Nok-wan, the mastermind of the Telegram sex exploitation ring 'Jagyeongdan' (Vigilante Group) that produced and distributed sexually exploitative content online, has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the appellate trial, the same sentence as in the first trial. Kim was indicted for operating 'Jagyeongdan' for approximately five years since 2020 and for creating and spreading sexually exploitative content targeting minors and others.
The court ordered Kim to wear an electronic tracking device for 30 years, be restricted from employment at institutions related to children, adolescents, and disabled individuals for 10 years, and have his personal information publicly disclosed and notified for 10 years.
Of the nine members involved in the crimes, four were sentenced to prison terms, and five received suspended prison sentences.
