Oh Se-hoon, Jung Won-oh Clash in Seoul Mayoral Race

In the Seoul mayoral election, a major battleground for the June 3 local elections, Democratic Party candidate Jung Won-oh and People Power Party candidate Oh Se-hoon are locked in a fierce contest. While the People Power Party won the two elections held in Seoul in 2022, the Democratic Party secured citizens' votes in subsequent general and presidential elections.

Jung Won-oh, who served three terms as Seongdong District mayor, emphasized his "highly competent official" credentials and presented an administrative philosophy where citizens are the masters. He criticized Oh Se-hoon's tenure, stating that housing supply was lower than during the previous mayor's term.

Oh Se-hoon, a veteran mayor challenging for a fifth term, expressed confidence in a comeback, citing a reversal from opinion poll results based on the strong on-site reactions. He countered that if Jung were elected, Seoul's real estate market would become a "hell."

Voters expressed their support, expecting Jung Won-oh to demonstrate his ability to manage the city as a candidate from the ruling party and Oh Se-hoon to leverage his seasoned administrative experience to solve real estate issues. However, a significant number of undecided voters also remained.
