Assemblyman Cho Kyeong-tae Enters Race for Vice Speaker, Three-Way Contest Expected

People Power Party Assemblyman Cho Kyeong-tae has declared his candidacy for the vice speaker election in the latter half of the 22nd National Assembly. At a press conference held at the National Assembly Communication Center in Yeouido, Seoul, on the morning of the 11th, Cho emphasized that he would leverage his experience as a six-term lawmaker to rebalance the National Assembly and counter absolute power's unchecked dominance.

He argued that the unilateral tyranny of the Democratic Party must be rectified in the latter half of the Assembly, and the convention of cooperation and respect for the opposition party must be restored.

Assemblymen Cho Kyeong-tae, Cho Bae-sook, and Park Deok-heum are running for the People Power Party's vice speaker nomination. The party will hold a general meeting of its lawmakers on the 13th to select the final candidate.
