College Student Sent to Prosecutors for Luring Minors for Sexual Exploitation Under 'Slave Contract' Pretext
A university student, identified as A, has been sent to prosecutors on charges of sexually exploiting minors and committing related crimes, after allegedly luring them with recruitment posts disguised as a 'slave contract' on social media, then creating and distributing sexually explicit material and using it for blackmail.
The Cybercrime Investigation Unit of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency announced on the 11th that they had transferred A to the prosecution on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Youth Against Sex Offenses.
A is accused of producing over 30 instances of sexually explicit material targeting 11 female minors from 2022 until October last year, and distributing some of it on social media.
A allegedly lured minors by posting 'slave recruitment' notices on his social media accounts, demanding personal information and explicit photos as qualifications for the 'slave' position.
Investigators found that A used the obtained personal information and photos to psychologically pressure the victims into creating further sexually explicit content. A had evaded police investigation by concealing his IP address using a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
In collaboration with organizations such as the Digital Sex Crime Support Center, the police have completed measures to delete and block the distributed videos. The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency urged caution to protect personal information and prevent secondary victimization.
