Final Hearing for Mayor Oh Se-hoon's Political Funds Act Trial Set for June 17
In the trial of Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, accused of violating the Political Funds Act, sponsor Kim Han-jeong admitted to giving 33 million won to political broker Myung Tae-gyun.
Mayor Oh is accused of receiving unpublished poll results from Mr. Myung in April 2021 during the Seoul mayoral by-election, and then having his sponsor, Mr. Kim, pay the 33 million won poll expenses to Mr. Myung.
Kim Han-jeong claimed that there were no requests from Mayor Oh Se-hoon or former Seoul Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs Kang Cheol-won. He also stated he was unsure about the circumstances under which he delivered the poll results received from Mr. Myung to Mayor Oh during the April 2021 by-election.
