A 33-year-old Ukrainian national has been convicted in the United States for illegally manufacturing firearm parts using a 3D printer.

The case began on April 22, 2024, when a package originating from China containing a suspected firearm silencer was seized by U.S. Customs.

The man resided in Harrisburg, Illinois, and was known to have completed U.S. Air Force officer training.

Investigators discovered three 3D printers, a 'Ghost Gunner' CNC machine, and numerous illegal firearm parts and manufactured firearms at Vishnevski's home and in a camper parked outside. Seized items included unregistered short-barreled rifles, unregistered silencers, and an Atlas Arms 12-gauge short-barreled shotgun with its serial number obliterated.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Illinois, Vishnevski was found guilty on five counts: receipt or possession of an unregistered short-barreled rifle, manufacturing an NFA weapon without paying the special occupational tax, receipt or possession of an unregistered short-barreled shotgun, receipt or possession of an unregistered silencer, and possession of an Atlas Arms 12-gauge short-barreled shotgun with its serial number obliterated.
