Woman in her 20s Indicted for Murder of Grandfather

A woman in her 20s has been indicted on charges of stabbing and killing her paternal grandfather, an 80-year-old man, with a weapon. Suspect A faces charges of 'patricide' for allegedly killing her grandfather, a close relative.

A is accused of stabbing her 80-year-old grandfather in the shoulder with a weapon at her home in Dapsimni-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, on the 18th of last month. The grandfather was taken to the hospital but died.

Prosecutors determined there was intent to kill based on evidence that A had searched for methods of murder and prepared a weapon in advance using her mobile phone. During police questioning, A denied intent, claiming she killed him impulsively during an argument.
