Prime Minister Kim Min-seok Leads Democratic Party Leadership Polls with 40% Support

Prime Minister Kim Min-seok is the most preferred candidate among Democratic Party supporters for the next party leader. A poll released on the 26th shows the Prime Minister leading the race with approval ratings in the 40% range, ahead of the party's convention scheduled for August.

According to a survey conducted by Korea Gallup from May 23rd to 25th among 1,000 adults nationwide, 45% of Democratic Party supporters chose Prime Minister Kim as their next party leader.

Korea Gallup also revealed the results of a survey on the future of People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk following the June 3rd local elections. The results showed that 48% of all respondents said he should resign, while 28% responded that he should remain in his position.
