Researchers from UNIST's Design Department have demonstrated global competitiveness by presenting seven regular papers at 'ACM DIS 2026', a leading conference in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). 'ACM DIS 2026', held at the National University of Singapore (NUS), is a top-tier conference in the fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX).

The research team, led by Professors Park Young-woo, Lee Kyung-ho, and Kim Da-jung from UNIST's Design Department, presented a total of seven regular papers at the conference. The team showcased research exploring ways for humans to adopt technology more comfortably and naturally, focusing on everyday technology usage scenarios such as notifications, remote music listening, and AI journaling.

Professor Park Young-woo's team presented four papers on the theme of physical movement and emotional connection: 'Preppie' (a steady notification system using movement instead of sound), 'Sotate' (visualizing personal 'social battery'), 'Adilet' (analyzing non-verbal communication empathy through physical sensation), and 'Lily' (physical visualization synchronized with music flow). Professor Lee Kyung-ho's team presented two papers on citizen participation AI systems: 'Augmenteary' (self-reflection through AI interpretive feedback) and a model for a local news production platform. Professor Kim Da-jung's team presented one paper, 'Is This Really Me?', which visualizes algorithmic recommendation experiences.

This achievement demonstrates that the efforts of UNIST's Design Department, which combines an engineering-based research environment with design capabilities to explore interaction design and human-AI collaboration, have been recognized in the global HCI research field.
