Jinju City Council Democrats Demand Two Standing Committee Chair Seats
Lawmakers from the Democratic Party in Jinju City Council have demanded that the People Power Party, which holds the majority, allocate two standing committee chair positions ahead of the formation of the first half of the 10th city council.
Through a press conference held at the Jinju City Hall briefing room on July 2nd, Democratic Party lawmakers emphasized that the seat distribution from the previous local election – 13 for the People Power Party, 8 for the Democratic Party, and 1 independent – was intended for cooperation, not for one party to monopolize authority, and argued that a council formation fitting this principle is necessary.
