U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in succession at the White House on the 28th (local time). Both meetings were held behind closed doors. During the ensuing meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the denuclearization of Iran. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt stated that the meetings were positive and productive.

These successive closed-door meetings are expected to have a direct impact on the direction of the Trump administration's policies toward Iran and Ukraine. In particular, Prime Minister Netanyahu is facing the October general election, and President Zelenskyy is dealing with deteriorating domestic public sentiment, putting both in a situation where diplomatic support from President Trump is critical.

Accordingly, the pace of future progress in the Middle East and Eastern European peace processes, as well as the decision on whether to expand weapons aid to Ukraine, is expected to be determined.
