Deputy Prime Minister Koo Yoon-cheol Signals Easing of Loan Regulations
Deputy Prime Minister Koo Yoon-cheol, concurrently serving as Minister of Finance and Economy, will announce measures to ease loan regulations for low-income individuals and actual homebuyers. These measures will include tailored support for specific groups such as youth, newlyweds, and low-income, non-homeowners, as well as plans to expand housing supply.
The deferral of heavy capital gains tax for multiple homeowners will not be implemented. The increased capital gains tax rates for those owning two or more homes will be phased in to reflect reality.
Further supplementary measures for single-stock leveraged Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are planned, with responses to be determined based on the situation after monitoring the normalization of trading volumes and sustained net selling by individual investors following July 31st, in order to alleviate concentration.
