Hong Ki-won: "President Lee Jae-myung should first cut down on the frequency of his SNS posts"

Hong Ki-won, a lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Korea, expressed concern on the 30th that President Lee Jae-myung's social media messages are too frequent and combative, possibly keeping issues continually inflamed. Hong voiced his concerns about the president's use of social media while appearing on YTN Radio's "Jang Sung-chul's News Myeongdang" that day.

Hong acknowledged that President Lee had made extensive use of social media since his days as Seongnam mayor and through his tenure as Democratic Party chairman, and that his direct communication had indeed fueled his political rise. "Given that, it seems he intends to keep it up," Hong said.

"The presidency is very different from the position of a party leader or a local government head," Hong said. "Because every single message carries enormous weight, he should sharply reduce the frequency, speak in broad, strategic terms, and leave the details to his aides and ministers. I believe that would serve the administration better."
