Cho Kwang-han Criticizes Han Dong-hoon's Busan Candidacy, Likening it to 'Birth Tourism'
On the 16th, People Power Party Supreme Council member Cho Kwang-han criticized former leader Han Dong-hoon's candidacy in Busan's Buk-gap district, labeling it a 'long-distance run.' Cho pointed out that some politicians engage in 'shopping candidacies' driven by a misplaced sense of superiority and privilege, likening this practice to 'birth tourism.' Aiming at the weak rationale for former leader Han's Busan candidacy, Cho stated, 'As if they were conquerors of a district, they are seized by a superiority complex, thinking, 'The residents here should be grateful that I am running here.'"
Regarding the 'no nomination theory for Busan Buk-gap,' which proposes that a candidate should be selected through an internal party primary rather than a 'long-distance run,' Cho strongly refuted it, calling it an 'unreasonable and substandard claim.'
Following Cho's remarks, Song Young-hoon, a former spokesperson for Han's camp, responded on social media by referencing Cho's past instance of changing constituencies to run for mayor.
