Hyundai Motor Group is aiming for a 'second semiconductor myth' by investing over 160 trillion won in AI robotics, which can independently perceive, judge, and act. The group plans to invest more than 160 trillion won in its AI robotics business, merging the software technology of autonomous driving tech firm '42dot' with the robot technology of its subsidiary 'Boston Dynamics'.

Boston Dynamics recently showcased its technological prowess by releasing a video of its developer-stage humanoid robot 'Atlas' performing complex gymnastics with 56 joints. Hyundai Motor Group plans to commercialize the developer-stage humanoid robot 'Atlas' in 2028 and deploy it at its new Georgia plant in the U.S. for parts logistics and assembly work. By 2030, the goal is for it to take on full assembly line responsibilities.

Hyundai Motor Group is expanding its mobile AI ecosystem through collaborations with Nvidia for AI training and infrastructure construction using 50,000 GPUs, and with Google DeepMind for robot behavior learning. Through 42dot's technology, it is advancing its Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) transition and developing data-driven driving control technologies.
