Companies are making 'AI and data sovereignty' a high priority as they seek to gain control over their AI models and data, moving away from reliance on centralized providers.

As generative AI proliferates into real-world business applications, companies initially engaged in an implicit trade-off of 'functionality now, control later.' However, concerns are growing about placing their data within systems they do not own and under governance they cannot control.

EDB CEO Kevin Dallas pointed out that 'data is a company's IP,' and using cloud-based LLMs raises concerns about IP leakage and loss of competitive advantage.

Internal data reveals that 70% of global executives believe sovereign data and AI platforms are necessary for success. This apprehension is accelerating the movement to regain true control over enterprise data and AI systems, making it an urgent challenge for companies to break free from reliance on centralized providers and establish sovereignty over their model and data assets.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang emphasized that every nation should build its own AI infrastructure and develop AI based on its own language and culture.
