Gwangju City Supports Businesses by Opening 3,375 AI Technology Test Sites
Gwangju City is opening 3,375 public spaces across the region as testing grounds for businesses to facilitate the commercialization of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Currently, an 'AI Safety Guardian for Children's Commute Routes,' utilizing AI-based detection sensors, is being piloted at Seorim Elementary School in Buk District. Meanwhile, an AI safety management system that predicts collision risks between bicycles, vehicles, and pedestrians is operational at Ssangam Park in Gwangsan District.
Gwangju City plans to provide post-demonstration support to help businesses overcome challenges and find market channels. It aims to encourage corporate participation and enhance public accessibility by disclosing test locations and project progress.
Son Du-young, Director of Gwangju City's AI Industry Bureau, stated, "We will utilize the entire city as a demonstration site to provide businesses with opportunities for technology commercialization and citizens with chances to experience innovative technologies." He added, "We will spread an AI culture that citizens can truly feel."
