Rep. Kwon Seong-dong Rejects Special Prosecutor Summons Over Alleged Unification Church Gambling Cover-up

Rep. Kwon Seong-dong of the People Power Party has stated his intention not to comply with the special prosecutor's team summons regarding allegations of 'covering up the Unification Church's overseas gambling investigation.'

The allegations suggest that although intelligence about Unification Church executives' overseas gambling was received by the police, the case was instead intended to be suppressed rather than investigated.

The Chuncheon Police Station reportedly received a tip from an insider within the Unification Church in 2022 concerning President Han Hak-ja's overseas gambling and prepared a related report.
