Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong Attends Sun Valley Conference, Seeks Big Tech Partnerships
Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong will attend the Sun Valley Conference, held from July 7 to 11 at the Sun Valley Resort in Idaho, USA. At the event, Chairman Lee will discuss cooperation strategies with global information technology (IT) companies.
The Sun Valley Conference is an exclusive, invitation-only event hosted annually in July by the American investment bank Allen & Company, bringing together titans of the global media and IT industries. This year's event will be attended by CEOs from major Big Tech firms including Apple, Google, and OpenAI.
Chairman Lee Jae-yong had attended the conference annually from 2002 to 2016 before a hiatus due to legal issues. Upon his return last year after a nine-year absence, he secured AI-related orders from Big Tech companies like Tesla and Apple.
At this year's conference, Samsung Electronics plans to showcase its capabilities in HBM, foundry, and advanced packaging turnkey supply, and discuss its global AI strategy and business direction. Chairman Lee is expected to explore cooperation opportunities centered on AI semiconductors, leveraging his network with Big Tech executives. Such participation could serve as a catalyst for Samsung Electronics to lead changes in the global IT industry and strengthen partnerships amidst escalating competition in AI technology. It could also contribute to securing a competitive edge in the AI semiconductor market and exploring new business opportunities.
